Dr. Christopher Harlan Board Certified Optometrist

A native Memphian, Dr Horlan graduated from southern College of Optometry in 2016 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas. He spent his early optometry career as an associate in private practices in Little Rock, AR, and Cincinnati, OH, before returning home to Memphis in 2021. He established Harian Eye Care in 2024.

Can’t begin to describe how wonderful of a visit I had with Dr. Harlan. The office is extremely clean, well lit, and aesthetically pleasing. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcome you into the office. Glasses selection includes options no matter your style preference. Dr. Harlan was very knowledgeable when answering questions and professional. He frequently was cleaning the equipment during the visit which was appreciated. The technology in the office was also the most up to date that I have seen which left me feeling confident in the exam and exam results. Overall I would highly recommend Harlan Eye Care for you or your family’s vision needs!

We had a wonderful experience at Harlan Eye Care! The office is spotless, clean & well organized. From Tiffany at the front desk to Dr. Harlan they are both super friendly, welcoming & incredibly accommodating. I called one morning hoping to get my daughter in to be seen about her myopia control treatment, & they didnt hesitate- they said, "Yes, please bring her in!" That kind of service is rare & so appreciated.

Dr. Harlan is an expert in myopia control & took the time to explain everything clearly & thoroughly. My daughter was super nervous about it & Dr. Harlan was able to ease her fears. We felt genuinely cared for from the moment we walked in. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top- notch eye care in a warm & professional setting!

Dr Harlan adjusted his schedule to accommodate me recently when I was tormented by something lodged under my eyelid. It was so painful! He was able to see me the same day I called. Thankfully he was able to quickly remove the debris and I experienced immediate relief! Very thankful for Dr. Harlan and his team.

I was a patient of Dr. Harlan’s for several years when he was working as an optometrist for a practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. I always felt that Dr. Harlan was extremely conscientious and easy to talk to. One time I had an eye surgery (retinal repair) done at a specialized clinic. The following weekend, I had post-surgery complications. I couldn’t reach anyone at the surgical clinic, but Dr. Harlan agreed to come in on his day off to see me and decide if things could wait until the clinic opened. I really appreciated that! I can’t thank Dr. Harlan enough for his efforts.
