Meet the Doctor

​​​​​A native Memphian, Dr. Harlan graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 2016 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas. He spent his early optometry career as an associate in private practices in Little Rock, AR, and Cincinnati, OH, before returning home to Memphis in 2021. He established Harlan Eye Care in 2024.

Dr. Harlan is passionate about providing a comfortable, caring atmosphere for patients, staff, and families. In addition to providing routine vision correction services, Dr. Harlan enjoys caring for red eyes, sudden vision loss, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, and other eye conditions. He provides pre- and post-operative care for eye surgeries as well as solutions for myopia management.  Dr. Harlan enjoys seeing kids of all ages and makes eye exams fun for all.

By maintaining Board Certification through the American Board of Optometry, Dr. Harlan continues to demonstrate his commitment to lifelong learning and the highest level of patient care for both children and adults. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians.  At the local level, Dr. Harlan is a Collierville Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and is very involved in community outreach.

Dr. Harlan and his wife, Sarah, were married in 2020. They have a son, Noah, and an energetic hound dog named Buster.
